Description
-
- Backfill of what seems to be a large soak-away or pit. Its colour, and the fairly frequent occurance of fairly modernish brick, glass, rubble and tile makes the fill stand out from the surrounding lighter soil layer which the feature is cut into. A large deposit of creamy - beige clay found in eastern side and extended towards centre of cut where two large pieces of wood were found; one looked fairly modern, it had degraded paint on one side and was 60mm x 27mm x 3mm big. The other proved to be lower down in the matrix, associated with the clay which was then given a context number:- (554).
