- Remnant of larger layer, underlying 1983 and overlying gravel layer 1503. Possible evidence of burning. G.C. thinks that 1984 does not extend to the W where G.W. labelled it and R.R. took sample 259 from. If it does in fact extend W it should underlie 1983 and overlie 1985 in this region. - c. 4m (EW) x c. 1.2m (NS)
- At the E corner 1984 ovrlies the thin gravel layer 1503. At the W end it overlies 1985
- Mattock and trowel.
