- This context number was assigned to represent the lower fill of the pit. It includes a few tip-lines of greyish brown material separated by yellowy gravel lines which would have been hard to- and pretty meaningless to- break down into separate layers (/events). These occured on the western side and centre of the cut, but towards the eastern side, the yellowy-gravel lines trailed off, leaving just the greyish-brown material (see section sketch on context sheet). A solid natural base to this context was found on its western side but it was less clear on its eastern side - there seems to be another feature directly underneath this pit, and also one to its eastern side which made its exact edge initially hard to discern, but I am confident we have pretty much its true edge now.

- Moderate medium to small angular & sub-angular stones
- N-S: ? ; E-W: 2.10m; Thickness: 0.37m
- Some of the way (555) looks like tip-lines suggesting dumping
- Excavated with Mattock, Shovel & Trowel. Clear & Moist
