- (587) is the middle and the main fill of soakaway 584. It was a very soft and organic fill with a strong smell (similar to sulphur) - suggesting that (587)is the remains of organic waste or cess that was deposited into soakaway 584. It contained very few finds, rare fragments of of CBM and two pieces of animal bone.

- Max depth 70 cm; Diameter 164cm-171cm for a depth of 32 cm; Diameter 150 cm-154 cm for a depth of 37 cm (because of coursing offset)
- Trowelled and mattocked in dry conditions.
