- Soil is a very shallow roman linear feature. Its fill-(802) contained 1 piece of bone -human or animal- but it was loose in the fill and not lain in the cut. Also the preservation of this bone means that it is unlikely that there was originally a skeleton in 801 as it would have been preserved well. [801] is most likely to be part of a boundary within the Roman cemetery on this site within another Roman cemetery on this site. Another Roman boundary feature was found to the north of area 1-[786] which is on the same orientation as [801] and almost the same axis but the cut [786] is obviously ditchlike while [801] is a fairly unimpressive shallow linear

- Soil is truncated in NE by horncorn pit 191 and uarry pit 639. In the sw-sw 801 is truncated by linear 641 and modern piling wall. 801 contains one fill 802, which contained Roman finds. 801 is sitting on dirty gravel which is not natural on site. 801 is in area 1 in an area of high Roman cemetary activity.
