Description

    • Soil is a very shallow roman linear feature. Its fill-(802) contained 1 piece of bone -human or animal- but it was loose in the fill and not lain in the cut. Also the preservation of this bone means that it is unlikely that there was originally a skeleton in 801 as it would have been preserved well. [801] is most likely to be part of a boundary within the Roman cemetery on this site within another Roman cemetery on this site. Another Roman boundary feature was found to the north of area 1-[786] which is on the same orientation as [801] and almost the same axis but the cut [786] is obviously ditchlike while [801] is a fairly unimpressive shallow linear
