Group Description

    • This soakaway would have functioned as a drainage feature for number xx Prescot Street. Underlying the modern overburden lay (1104) the backfill of 19th century bricklined soakaway {1105}. Fill (1104) overlay fill (1162) sampled <65>, and was built into construction cut [1107], which was dug into Post Medieval agricultural soil (1135).

Dating Information

    • No datable pottery was recovered from the fills of this feature, but given its stratigraphic position, its form and function it is clearly Late Post Medieval.
