Basic Information
- Reworked soils
Group Description
-
- These layers are seen as levelling deposits laid down after the excavation of a large pit to reclaim the land. Underlying the Post Medieval soils lay (1983) and (1984), layers of sandy-silts that sealed a number of earlier features. Redeposited brickearth layer (1998) overlay (1999), sampled as <230>, the fill of large pit [2050], a gravel extraction pit.

Dating Information
-
- The material recovered from these layers has been dated to 120-160AD. However, stratigraphically these features are later, seen as Roman III, and so these finds are seen as residual.
