- Sealed by (228), context (229) formed the primary fill of [230], a what was initially seen as a north south aligned Roman ditch that was cut into redeposited gravels (258). However, this feature is now seen as a pit cut.

Dating Information

- No datable finds were recovered from (229), the primary fill of [230], but finds from the later fills of this feature were broadly dated to 50-400AD, and stratigraphically below it was (1645), the fill of quarry pit [1644], dated to 120-160AD.
