- In an area of heavy truncation, underlying the modern overburden lay (1934), the fill of Roman pit cut [1933]. The mixed nature of fill (1934) indicated that it was a refuse deposit, the presence of nails and bone may indicate that it was redeposited material from with in the area of the cemetery. Cut [1933] was dug into (1848), the fill of Roman pit [1847], a Roman refuse pit, which was dug into layer (1925). These pits were seen as refuse pits.

Dating Information

- The datable material recovered from these features was dated to 250-400AD. Given the stratigraphic position of this feature it is seen as Roman III.
