Sub Group: PCO06_95
- Gravel layer deposits, seen as the same context.
Group Description
-
- Underlying context (616), a heavily compacted layer of gravels was (621), a further layer of dirty gravels that had been used as a capping layer. This was seen as the same context as (617), a continuation of the layer of compacted gravels, which sealed a number of quarry pits. Contexts (621) and (617) formed Subgroup 95, and Group 30. This layer was very heavily compacted and was probably laid down to address the relative moderate compaction of the underlying pit fills in an episode of land re-use.
