- Layer (2157) sealed (2158), the back fill of [2159], a Roman pit cut, and the fill is seen as a slumped infill. This pit was dug into (2160), the fill of pit cut [2161], which was dug into the natural gravels of the site area and was one of the earliest features in this area of the site. These features were only recorded in section, and they were noted during excavation to be quarry pits.

Dating Information

- No datable finds were recovered from these features, but given their stratigraphic position they are seen as Roman.
