- Pit cut [830] was dug into (847), the fill of Roman ditch [848]. Pottery dates fill to Roman period. Eroded base and edges suggest it was open for sometime, and so the cut was not dug for the fill; therefore (847) is seen as a silting up event. The cut itself was a possible boundary of cemetery.
