Subgroup Narrative Text
-
- Cut by 19th century construction cut [600] was fill (1103), latest fill of a soak-away {1102}, that also held primary fill (1123) and which was built into construction cut [1100]. The construction cut was cut into Roman deposits (1269) and (1170). The bricks of this feature were unfrogged, indicating that they were at least Georgian, and clearly earlier than the walls of subgroup 236, the construction of which had cut into this soakaway. This demonstrates a phasing in the Post Medieval building on the site.

- Limited pot was recovered from the fills of this feature, with one piece dated to 1580-1900AD from (1123). The bricks used in the features construction, its form and function, as well as its stratigraphic position, demonstrate that it has a mid to late Post Medieval date.
