- Burial. Cut, Skeleton, Fill. Stones laid on knees of skeleton.
Group Description

- Layer (1403) sealed (1435), the fill of grave cut [1434], which was dug for skeleton 1436. Some pottery which does not appear to be in situ is present in this grave fill. Context (1458), placed stones, overlay skeleton 1436 - just above the knees. The stones were a mix of sandstone (mid yellowy orange), and limestone (light greeney grey). The northernmost stone is sandstone, the other is perhaps limestone- looks as though it has been worked. Skelton 1436 was male, supine, with the right hand over the pelvis.

- A total of 25 pot sherds were recovered from this feature, all of which were dated to 120-160AD.
