Basic Information

  • Roman pit cut

Sub Groups

  • Sub Group: PCO06_489
    • Large pit cut

Group Description

    • Redeposited brickearth layer (1998) overlay (1999), sampled as <230>, the fill of large pit [2050]. This large pit had an amorphous form suggests it may not be a deliberate cut, but it was also heavily truncated, which may have affected the interpretation. Initially seen as a gravel extraction pit, this was probably more than one pit, and is now seen as a refuse feature.
