Group Description

    • Underlying Post Medieval soil (549) was (788), a Roman slumped deposit, that was slumped into pit cut [589]. It was derived from layers surrounding the pit and had slumped into it after the pit had been cut. Context (788) sealed grave [867], which was filled by (869) and contained burial 868.

Dating Information

    • No datable material was recovered from this feature. However given its stratigraphic position and that it was in an area of Roman deposits truncated by Post Medieval activity, it is seen as a late Roman deposit.
