    • Cut and fill of pit

Group Description

    • Cut [1550] overlay (1557) a redeposited brick earth with occasional cultural inclusions, that formed the fill of pit [1558]. This pit was seen as a refuse pit, and was dug into (1563), a Roman dumped deposit of dirty gravels, and (1567) the fill of cut [1566], a cut that could have possibly been for a grave, although no bones were present, may result from the acidic conditions. However the mixed fill of this pit indicated that it was a refuse pit. Cut [1566] was dug into the natural gravels of the site area.
