- Underlying compacted gravel layer (617), was (647), the upper fill of pit cut [649], which also contained primary fill (648). The later upper fill is seen as a capping layer, possibly resulting from a period of land reclamation, while primary fill (648) was seen as slumpage from the sides of quarry pit cut [649].

Dating Narrative

- A total of five pot sherds were recovered from this feature, four of which were dated to 1580-1600, and the fifth was dated to 1350-1500, and is seen as residual.
