Subgroup Narrative Text
-
- Underlying (616) was (662) the latest fill of pit cut [663]. Underlying (662) was (664), a further backfill; these fills were seen as refuse deposits, given their mixed nature, and were seen as different to the lower fills. Accordingly they were sub-grouped as seperately to this sub-group. The lowest fills of this pit cut were (674) and (675), gravel fills that were comparatively sterile to the overlying refuse deposits. The whole pit was heavily truncated, and so its intended function is unclear. Pit cut [663] truncated burial 735, it was in cut [738], and was filled by deposit (739).
