Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Underlying the post Medieval soils was (1040), the top fill of [1043], a cut for cremation burial (1042). The feature was seen as a Roman offering pit, which also contained lower fill (1041). Seems to be the disturbed remains of a cremation or Roman offering pit. Pit cut [1043] was dug into (1029), the fill of Roman pit [1028].
