Silt trap?
Part of a drainage system, this small brick lined feature may have acted like a silt trap. It was connected via a brick and stone drain to a soak-away.
Some site shots, a few images images of the staff, even including a picture of me, and a couple of features. But altogether a lovely sunny July day.
