Boxing out a sample
Ashley is excavating a 1m x 1m box in order to sample a huge deposit for finds and animal bone.
Photo diary entry for 27th March. We are now getting through some of the modern and post medieval parts of the site and this is revealing earlier phases of archaeology below.
