Guy usually takes all the site photos, as he is a keen photographer, and he always carts round an ancient Pentax, taking shots for his own purposes.. So here are a series of images he has taken in black and white…
The Key
And now for something completely different... phew, that big old wedding set was great fun, but it is good to get onto some new material at last. This big pile of keys from a now demolished hospital in Hampshire. I went out to do a building recording survey with a set of work cameras, which means two crappy Minolta SLRs that have been lugged around various digs in the rain in a muddy bag. As far as I can make out they are entirely made of plastic, the light meter seems to be causing underexposure and there is some mud, gravel or something stuck in there that is scratching the film as it advances... (no offence intended to Minolta lovers). Either way, in the spirit of 'a good photographer can make good images with any camera' I set out to shoot a couple of extra rolls of film alongside the normal boring photographic survey work. The results were ok, to be honest, the cheap Fuji slide film was the greatest handicap, the plastic lenses of the plastic cameras were never gonna live up to the Zeiss T* of the Hasselblad, but no real complaints about the cameras otherwise.
