Pasta!
Just to clear up a little linguistic (if not cultural) confusion... in Portuguese (Brazilian) , all kinds of pasta are called 'massa' not 'pasta' which is a generic word for any kind of 'paste'. Massa also can be used in Portuguese to mean any kind of dough or indeed mortar! To make matters more complicated, the word 'MacarĂ£o' from the Italian word for Macaroni is used to mean any shape of pasta (often spaghetti).
