This is the end of week two on the site. We are still working through post-medieval features which mainly consist of wells and soakaways with some random deposits thrown in. There also seems to be a post-med deposit running over a fair proportion of the site that is hiding more interesting archaeology – not that post-medieval archaeology isn’t incredible stimulating! When we’ve dealt with this layer, we can rip it off to expose more of what this site has to offer.

Personally I’m hoping for a Roman cemetery.
