Field Archaeologists work on excavations – they dig, record and monitor evidence for the past. But not all archaeologists dig holes. There are many different areas of archaeology in which people work and roughly 5000 people work as archaeologists in the UK today. Drains
This brick lined feature had a drain connecting it to a soakaway. The brick lining tapers and there is a rough brick base. The feature was truncated by a modern pit of some kind.
